Today, my family and I visited friends who have goats. They have three goat kids (all boys) who are absolutely adorable; they are so soft, but the best part about them is their long ears. So cute! They also have chickens and a lamb and are in the process of fully moving into their house. Every time I visit them I am inspired by the deep deep faith of Mrs.J. She is so compassionate and loving. I find that God always seems to shine through her, and every time I see her it is very encouraging. Mrs.J's character is one that I aspire to achieve.
It is important for for anyone, but particularly christian girls/women, to have other women they admire. What traits do you find the most desirable for yourself? Personally, I find mercy and compassion (which seem to go hand in hand) are the most desirable, but also the hardest to nurture and grow. It is incredible hard to show compassion to a mean boss, or to a child who constantly undermines your authority. At those times, I think it is the best to remember the women we admire and strive to follow their example; that is, following the example of Jesus Christ.
